Wine Infused Gummy Bears Dress-up A Cocktail
Hiding alcohol in food does sound like an American concept to us; but hiding this treat in an alcoholic beverage and it’s a different game (anything sweet from the Little Martini Book will do!) however, ladies claim that it is not difficult to make when you have the correct ingredients. All you need for wine gummy bears are some gummy bear molds, sugar, and gelatine.
If you want to make them very alcoholic, then you need to monitor the gummy bear closely using a candy thermometer. Of course, the goal is to make them boozy!! Based on the recipe, retaining alcohol requires the temperature to remain at ninety degrees or below. Temperature is the key to turn gummy bears into wine-infused bliss; however, we haven’t entered the kitchen just yet.
Of course, most of our team have already created and tasted these wine-infused gummy treats. The gummy bears were truly tasty with the red wine gummies being our favorite, but some staff was more inclined to the rose gummy bear option. In addition to the wine flavors, the ladies had some ideas for more alcohol flavors including champagne! If you make these gummy bear treats, it is recommended that you label the bag with a “for Mommy only” label so the children aren’t giddy after sneaking some candy.

Below is everything you need to know to make the candy treat to ensure it is the highlight of your get-togethers (or just a yummy snack at the end of the day).
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 90 minutes
Total gummy bear cooking time: one hour and 35 minutes
Serves: this makes approximately 125 wine gummy bears
- one cup of wine
- three tablespoons or six packages of gelatin
- one half cup of sugar
- one drop of pink food color (if you are making rose gummy bears)
- two or three gummy bear molds
First, combine the sugar, wine and gelatin in a saucepan over a low-medium heat. Next, whisk the mixture for two to three minutes or until the gelatin and sugar have dissolved. If you are making rose gummy bears, stir in the pink food coloring. Using a glass measuring cup with a spout, pour the mixture into the models and use a spatula to remove the excess from the molds.
Refrigerate the substance for 90 minutes.
Once the gelatin has set, the gummy bears will pop out from the molds. *Store any uneaten gummy bears in an airtight container away from children.
Where did the Wine Gummy Bears Come From?
Before we begin sharing our recipe for wine gummy bears, let’s discuss how this unique (and delicious) experiment came about. The people at Sugarfina had an idea of infusing small gummy roses and gummy bears into a single elixir; thereby, forming the most sought-after candy item on the market. So, grabbing their Whispering Angel wine, the team from Sugarfina went to the kitchen to begin the project for wine gummy bears. The result was a “sweet, tangy and lightly fruity” gummy bear infused with wine, according to Today magazine. The gummies were sold out in approximately two hours with in excess of 18,000 people joining a waiting list to get their hands on this yummy treat.
